Shahnaz Achackzad

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, PMHNP

Dr. Shahnaz Achackzad is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health and Family Nurse Practitioner. She started her career in critical care nursing and has been working at health for over 17 years. As a nurse practitioner, she has practiced in specialties such as primary care, mental health and substance use disorders. Her philosophy of wellness is influenced as connection of mind/body and treating the whole person. Her goal as a provider is to help patients have a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Shahnaz Achackzad received her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree at Brandman University. She completed her master’s in nursing in Family medicine at Western University School of Health Sciences.  She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California Irvine.

He served eight years in the US Army Nurse Corps and worked in community mental health for seven years before coming to private practice, where he maintains a holistic, patient-centered philosophy of care. Experienced in psychotropic medication management and encourages individuals to explore a variety of other options to achieve their optimal state of mental and emotional well-being.
