tMS For DEPRESSION

When Nothing Seems to Help Anymore
Get Started

You’ve Tried Everything—and You’re Still Struggling

You’ve taken the meds. You’ve done the therapy. And yet, the fog hasn’t lifted. You’re still waking up with dread, feeling disconnected from your life, or wondering if things will ever get better. When depression doesn’t respond to traditional treatments, it’s not your fault—and it doesn’t mean you’re out of options.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) may offer the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for.

A New Approach for Treatment-Resistant Depression

Depression Isn’t Just Emotional

For some, depression feels like a weight you can’t shake. For others, it’s numbness, irritability, or the sense that life is happening around you—not with you. It might show up as constant fatigue, trouble concentrating, or the inability to feel joy, even in things you used to love. However it looks for you, depression affects everything—from your energy to your relationships to your sense of self.

At Segal Neuro, we understand how depression can take over your life in quiet but powerful ways. You might still be getting through your day—working, parenting, showing up—but inside, it’s an uphill climb. TMS offers a different kind of support: a non-medication, brain-based treatment for depression that hasn’t responded to other options. And it’s available right here in Mill Valley.

When Depression Takes Over More Than You Can Handle

TMS may be a good fit if you:

  • Have depression that hasn’t improved with medication

  • Struggle with side effects from antidepressants

  • Want a non-medication option for long-term relief

  • Are looking for a safe, well-tolerated treatment supported by research

TMS is done right here in our office while you’re fully awake and comfortably seated. The treatment itself is simple and non-invasive—most people describe it as mildly tapping or clicking sounds, like a woodpecker. We provide earplugs to reduce any noise discomfort, and our team is there to guide you every step of the way.

There’s no sedation, no recovery time, and most people are able to drive themselves home afterward.

What Happens During a TMS Session?

We start with a comprehensive evaluation to make sure TMS is the right fit for you. You’ll meet with one of our psychiatrists to talk through your symptoms, history, and goals for treatment.

TMS involves:

  • Customized treatment plans tailored to your specific needs and symptoms
  • Daily treatments (Monday through Friday), each lasting about 20-40 minutes for about 4-6 weeks

  • A comfortable, outpatient setting—no anesthesia or downtime required

  • Regular check-ins with our team to track your progress

We’re with you the entire way, adjusting as needed and supporting your mental health holistically.
